Paul Cezanne was a French artist whose main style incorporated the post-impressionism movement. His artwork is meant to display a different and radical type of style when compared to the art of his time. This portrait title Afternoon in Naples displays a naked woman laying in bed with a naked man, as a servant enters the room with a refreshment. The work is meant to display the current freedom of sensuality that existed in the city at the time. I chose this piece because it is important not to feel restrained or limited when it comes to sensuality and I believe that this piece presents that point of view perfectly.
