Pablo Picasso was a genius in cubism artwork and was highly
influence by his fascination with eroticism. His pieces contained many
exaggerations and abstract images. The portrait The Kiss was one of the many paintings that he completed depicting his
second wife Jacqueline Roque, which became his biggest inspiration in his later
life. He had never painted so many pieces of any other previous female muse. A
unique trait that this piece includes is the showing of the tongue, which was
not considered appropriate for such paintings. All of the features of both
himself and Jacqueline are exaggerated, which is a staple in Picasso’s work. I
chose this piece because of its depiction of his devotion to the apparent love
of Picassos’ life.
